In a bid to address the concerns of protesting farmers and liberalize trade, the EU will strengthen checks on whether carriers comply with agreements when exporting grain from Ukraine, European Transport Commissioner Adina Valyan said. This was reported by Reuters.
In his opinion, closing borders is a bad idea, especially if it means closing borders with a neighbor who needs connectivity.
We are working to strengthen implementation by emphasizing that as long as the agreements are implemented correctly, there should be no problems. According to Valyan, EU countries will benefit from trade if everyone complies with the agreements.
The European Commissioner added that automobile exports from Poland, Romania and Slovakia to Ukraine increased by double digits, and this figure exceeded the increase in goods coming from Ukraine to these countries.
