Almost 43% of Russians surveyed say that banks continue to impose unnecessary financial services on them. This is evidenced by data from the financial market survey “Vyberu.ru”; A copy is in the possession of “socialbites.ca”.
According to a survey of 2,500 Russians, offers for additional products (credit cards or accounts) mostly come via push notifications in banks’ mobile applications. Previously, such offers were received over the phone or in the form of targeted advertising.
21% of respondents stated that they felt a decrease in the implementation of services: offers have become more personalized. On the contrary, 23% said that advertising volume increased. 13% do not pay attention to this.
“Thanks to the actions of the Bank of Russia, the intensity of mis-selling (the imposition of a product that is not the product you want. – socialbites.ca’s note) has significantly decreased in 2023. It is also important that financial institutions truly follow the requirements of regulatory authorities and work to increase the transparency of services. According to our data, more than 30% of users surveyed in 2023 were unable to understand the full cost of the loan due to advertising when applying for a loan,” said Anna Romanenko, director of the financial market’s communication policy department.
