Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi said that the referees in the Inter match mistakenly did not allow the team’s goal because of Russian midfielder Alexei Miranchuk. His words are quoted Football Italy.
“It is incomprehensible how they managed not to allow this purpose despite all the personnel at their disposal. There was no handball from Miranchuk, Bastogne collided with Miranchuk and it was a penalty. When you look, it is Bastogne who touches the ball and does not change direction at all, it passes Miranchuk’s hand,” said Percassi.
On February 28, Inter defeated Atalanta with a score of 4:0. In the first half, the match referee canceled Charles De Ketelare’s goal. The referee evaluated that the ball flew towards him after Alexey Miranchuk’s handball. The winners’ goals were scored by Matteo Darmian, Lautaro Martinez, Federico Dimarco and Davide Frattesi.
Miranchuk transferred from Lokomotiv Moscow to Italian Atalanta in September 2020. His contract with the Bergamo club expires in June 2025.
Miranchuk made 23 appearances in all competitions for the team this season, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
Previously in Italy criticized Miranchuk.
