Tochka Bank will pay its customers about 8 billion rubles frozen in their accounts based on QIWI Bank. This is stated in Press release “Points”.

The text stated that the payments would be received by entrepreneurs whose losses were not covered by payments from DIA. The company concluded that Tochka planned to make its first payments on March 5.

They added that they opened accounts with approximately 20 thousand customers using QIWI bank licenses, which corresponds to 3% of the total number of customers. Until November 2021, Qiwi held a 40% stake in Tochka. At the beginning of 2023, Tochka Bank received its own banking license, but some customers continued to be served by Qiwi Bank.

21 February Central Bank of Russia deprived QIWI Bank’s license was revoked for serious violations, which led to the immediate suspension of the Contact payment system. On February 22, the Bank of Russia removed QIWI Bank and the Contact payment system from the register of payment system operators.
