Trade and economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the PRC is not directed towards other states. This was stated during a briefing to journalists by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mao Ning. TASS.

During the event, reporters asked the diplomat to comment on US sanctions imposed on many companies from China. We are talking about restrictions imposed under the pretext of connections between these organizations and the Russian Federation.

“Normal trade and economic cooperation between China and Russia are not directed at third countries and cannot be influenced by other states,” Mao Ning said.

He added that Beijing resolutely opposes the imposition of illegal and unilateral restrictions. Chinese authorities also plan to take necessary measures to protect the rights and interests of local companies.

February 23 US Department of Commerce introduced Sanctions against 93 Russian and foreign companies, including eight Chinese entities. The ministry explained that they made this decision in connection with “the provision of significant assistance by these enterprises to the Armed Forces or the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.”

Previously Beijing accused Washington is trying to intimidate Chinese companies.
