He recalled economist Ray Dalio’s research on the repeated changes of the earth’s formations. Dalio noted that countries whose economies stopped developing were replaced by other states, and political flare-ups always occur at this junction.
The head of the Ministry of Finance emphasized that a real turning point has come, when states with developing economies have already surpassed the G7 members in terms of potential. Siluanov noted that such a transformation does not occur painlessly.
According to the minister, everyone suffers from the sanctions imposed on Russia. Siluanov emphasized that despite the sanctions, the Russian economy survived and grew by 3.6 percent last year. The head of the Ministry of Finance noted that industrial production increased by 3.5 percent, while real incomes of citizens increased by 5.4 percent.
The minister emphasized that the authorities are taking measures to ensure Russia’s technological and financial independence, and that these measures are already starting to yield results.
