Shareholders of United Medical Group (EMC), including Igor Shilov, sold a controlling stake in the EMC clinic chain to its management. In this respect reports company press service.
According to the information obtained, General Manager Andrei Yanovsky, Financial Director Dmitry Shmelev and HR Director Svetlana Miklukha became the new owners of 51% of the shares.
According to Yanovsky, the agreement will help improve EMC corporate governance standards and will be positively received in the market. The company will continue to develop in line with the interests of all stakeholders.
EMC was founded in 1989 by French businessman Andre Kobuloff, who sold it to the pharmacy chain 36.6 in 2006. In 2008 the company was purchased by Igor Shilov. EMC is Russia’s largest private medical operator; Its network includes 6 multidisciplinary clinics and a number of specialist centres.
In December 2022, the EMC legal entity was re-registered from Cyprus to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. This led to the suspension of trading of the company’s depositary receipts on the Moscow Stock Exchange. However, trading resumed on February 1, 2024, and EMC shares rose 27%.
