Rosaviatsia is discussing the launch of direct flights between Russia and the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Bahrain and Kuwait in 2024. This was reported by Interfax Referring to Lev Kosinov, head of the department for transport regulation and international cooperation of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
“We plan to restart our flights to Manila (Philippines) in 2024. There are also plans to greatly expand the route network to China, Vietnam and India,” he said.
According to him, work on air connections with Saudi Arabia and Indonesia is actively ongoing. Russian airlines are also interested in operating flights to Bahrain and Kuwait.

The purchased aircraft represent approximately 40% of the total number of imported aircraft (about 400) that previously belonged to Western lessors and remain in Russia despite sanctions imposed in 2022 and requests from foreign lessors to return the aircraft.
