According to him, over the past two years, measures to support exporters have been adapted to new realities – now Russia’s exports are shifting more and more to the East. “Sometimes this requires a little more financing, simplifying the customer journey for exporters,” Shchur-Trukhanovich said. “Our mission is to expand our presence in foreign markets, look at Africa as a promising market and strengthen our position in Asian markets and the Middle East.”
Measures to support exporters should include new options for fast and profitable delivery of goods, he added. According to him, Russia’s presence in new markets is strengthened by the establishment of trading houses and distribution centers.
As a specific support measure, Shchur-Trukhanovich mentioned assistance to exporters in the homologation process – preparing a product for certification in a new market. “We removed nearly 30 obstacles in different countries in 2023,” he said. “We use a variety of methods, from multilateral negotiations to judicial procedures.”
