OMV concern states that Russian gas is not subject to EU sanctions

Austrian oil and gas company OMV stated that Russian gas is not subject to EU sanctions and that Austrian authorities should establish a legal basis to reject it. This was reported by RIA Newswith reference to the press service of the concern.

“Russian natural gas is not subject to sanctions in Europe and is imported from many countries,” the publication states.

According to company representatives, it is not possible to comment on possible financial losses at the moment, since contracts for gas supply are subject to confidentiality of both parties. At the same time, the concern complies with all imposed sanctions and laws and continues to diversify its sources of supply.
