Georgia achieved record income from international tourism in 2023. This is reported with reference to the Georgian National Tourism Administration. TASS.
According to the ministry, the country’s income from inbound tourism in 2023 amounted to $4.1 billion. This exceeded the pre-pandemic 2019 level by 26.2%, and compared with the previous 2022, income from the country’s tourism industry increased by 17.3%.
Last year, 4.7 million tourists from other countries visited Georgia, while non-residents of Georgia visited the country more than 7 million in total. This figure increased by 30.3% compared to last year.
Citizens of Russia (1.4 million), Turkey (1.3 million), Armenia (962 thousand) and Israel (217 thousand) come first among those traveling to the country.
