Hungary accepts the decision of the European Union to send financial aid of 50 billion euros to Ukraine. This statement was made by the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjártó, on a local TV channel. VRT.
“We are happy with this,” the minister said during an informal meeting with colleagues from EU countries.
He emphasized that it is important for Hungary to create a mechanism to control the expenditure of funds sent to Kiev, as well as to guarantee the immunity of funds blocked from European funds owed to Hungary.
The head of the foreign policy department emphasized that both of these conditions were met.
Before that, all 27 EU member states had approved the allocation of €50 billion to Ukraine over the next four years. They may also use income from frozen Russian assets for financing.
