Rosselkhoznadzor is concerned about the situation with the unsafe supply of bananas from Ecuador to Russia. According to this TASSThe ministry requested that Ecuador suspend the banana certification of five exporters who violated the requirements, effective February 5.
The press service of Rosselkhoznadzor noted that a dangerous quarantine object – the polyphagous humpback fly – was systematically detected in bananas from Ecuador.
“If effective measures are not taken and the pest continues to be detected, the institution will have to move to the next stage of implementing restrictive measures,” Rosselkhoznadzor warned.
