Former US President Donald Trump will be able to impose a 60 percent customs duty on goods coming from China if he wins the presidential elections in November. This was reported by washington post (WP) with reference to sources.

The publication states that Trump is considering options for a “new large-scale economic attack on China” that could lead to a “global trade war.” The US presidential candidate could lower Beijing’s trade status in relations with Washington, which could lead to a 40% increase in posts, analysts say.

The publication claims that Trump discussed with advisers in private meetings the possibility of imposing a 60 percent tariff on all Chinese imports.

Previously in the US House of Representatives accused for former President Donald Trump receiving more than $7.8 million from foreign governments while in office through payments to the Trump Organization, including to China.

The bulk of this amount came from the Chinese government and state-owned enterprises, while the rest came from 19 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.
