Europe is interested in Russian gas supplies, so a solution to expand transit through Ukraine to Europe will most likely be found. Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov stated this to journalists. Interfax.

“We believe that the European countries receiving gas today are interested in an extension, so it is likely that some decisions will be agreed to continue the transit,” he said.

According to him, the agreement could be extended with the participation of “other mediators.”

As the agency noted, Shulginov did not comment on the prospects for gas sales at the Russian-Ukrainian border.

According to one of the agency’s sources, one of the supply options after the expiration of the agreement may be for Russia to send gas to the Ukrainian border, and then the EU organization will transport the gas to Austria, Slovakia or the Czech Republic.
