The third power unit of the Czech Dukovany nuclear power plant will be shut down for planned maintenance. This was reported by RIA News.
“It is time to replace some of the fuel and carry out maintenance work to ensure that all components of the station are operating in proper condition,” station spokesman Jiri Bezdek said.
The other three blocks of the station will continue to operate, the repair work will not affect the supply of electricity to consumers in any way.
Dukovany NPP has four power units with a total capacity of 2040 megawatts. The station was opened in 1985-1987 with the participation of Soviet experts.
Dukovany NPP on March 29, 2023 denied It will be derived from the use of Russian nuclear fuel and from 2024 from the American company Westinghouse. The contract is for 15 years.
