In 2023, a record number of transactions were carried out in the secondary housing market in Moscow. This was reported by Interfax referring to the capital’s Rosreestr data.
According to the ministry, approximately 175 thousand transactions for the purchase of second homes were completed in Moscow last year alone. This is 1.3 times more than in 2022.
“As of August, the number of secondary transactions in the capital reached a maximum of 2023 – 17.5 thousand contracts. This figure remained at 17 thousand until October,” said Igor Maidanov, head of the Rosreestr department.
There was also a decrease in November and December. In December, 14.9 thousand transactions were carried out in the secondary market in Moscow, which was 3.4% less than in November, but at the end of the year a record result was achieved.

The expert emphasized that a real “spectacle” is currently going on around the primary market and concessional mortgages, which creates additional intense interest among Russians and encourages them to trade.
Sales Director of Etazhi company Sergei Zaitsev also noted that the interest in purchasing housing in the primary market increased in early January compared to last year.
It was previously predicted that purchases of country houses in Russia would increase until March.
