The number of reservations made by Russians for accommodation within the country in February 2024 increased by more than 25% compared to February 2023, and abroad by 13%. These statistics were provided by the press service of the online booking service Ostrovok.ru at the request of socialbites.ca.
“Among Russian destinations, the number of bookings in Murmansk and Teriberka has increased noticeably, especially by several times. High rates of demand growth were also recorded in Kirovsk – 81%, Listvyanka (Irkutsk region, shore of Lake Baikal) – 78%, Moscow – 77%, Yekaterinburg – 52%, Irkutsk – 29%, St. “St. Petersburg – 23 percent, Kazan – 16 percent,” he said.
Among the top 10 destinations by number of reservations for February 2024 are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Esto-Sadok, Irkutsk, Teriberka, Arkhyz, Sochi, Kazan and Krasnaya Polyana.
The average cost of a night booked in Russian hotels and inns in February is 5,900 rubles – this figure is up 13% compared to last year (5,200 rubles).
Among foreign destinations, the number of bookings in Japan increased noticeably several times, in Italy by 29%, in Thailand by 24%, in Belarus by 13% and in the UAE by 10%.
The top ten countries in terms of the number of bookings by Russians in February are: Thailand, Belarus, Italy, Turkey, UAE, France, Armenia, Spain, Japan, Kazakhstan.
