The Russian government did not support the bill of State Duma deputies on the introduction of a restaurant tax of 1% of the bill amount in favor of participants in a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine. At the end of September 2023, deputies of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Mikhail Matveev and Vyacheslav Markhaev submitted to the State Duma a bill on a “restaurant tax”, proposing to organize the collection of funds to support participants of special operations.
