The flow of tourists to Russian sanatoriums in 2024 may increase by only 2-3% compared to 2023. This is the prediction of Kommersant newspaper. given Mikhail Danilov, Medical Director of the Association for Health Tourism and Corporate Health (AOT).

In 2023, annual growth was 6% and 7 million people visited health facilities. A decrease in tourist flow may occur this year due to a shortage of quality supply. The demand for health-improving holidays is now one and a half times the capacity of resorts. Danilov announced that all commercial healthcare facilities were full last year.

Some sanatoriums, for example “Valuevo”, predict an increase in tourist flows by 10% in 2024. A similar occupancy to last year is expected in Zapolyarye, Rodnik and Sochi Park Hotel.

Ruslan Verdiev, Commercial Director of Life Balance Hotel Rosa Springs, admitted that prices for holidays in sanatoriums will increase by an average of 20% while occupancy continues at the current level. According to OneTwoTrip, a summer booking in Russia now costs an average of 8 thousand rubles per night (plus 6.7% annually). Stanislav Ivashkevich, managing partner of Ivashkevich Hospitality, explained that in addition to high demand, the increase in the cost of accommodation was influenced by the increase in operating costs of companies managing sanatoriums and the increase in the cost of debt financing.
