The interregional department of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) for the Yaroslavl and Kostroma regions will inspect seven local poultry farms due to the increase in prices for chicken eggs. In this respect TASS the department reported.

In the last months of 2023, prices for products of Galichskoe poultry farm CJSC, Buyskaya Poultry Farm, Kostromskaya Poultry Farm, Ostrovskaya Poultry Farm, Susaninskaya Poultry Farm, Nerekhtskoye Poultry Farm CJSC and Poultry Farm LLC were simultaneously increased.

FAS noted that in the period from September to December, in the absence of any external factors, these companies allowed the wholesale prices of chicken eggs to increase from 18.84% to 107%. This caused the price of the product to increase and caused an increase in demand among Russians.

The cost of eggs in Russia today is on average 110-125 rubles per dozen. President of the Russian Poultry Association Galina Bobyleva believes This figure is fair. Moreover, according to him, there is no need to wait for a decrease in the prices of the product.

As of January 1, authorities reset to zero Tax on imports of chicken eggs into the Russian Federation for a supply volume of up to 1.2 billion units.

Previously reportedBelarus increased egg supplies to Russia last year.
