Last year, 21 billionaires on the Forbes list died. This was reported by oppression.
Nine of these billionaires were US citizens; three died in India and two in Malaysia. Only one of the 21 deaths was a woman: Zhao Ning, co-founder of pharmaceutical company WuXi App at China Tec. He died at the age of 56 after battling cancer for the last 20 years.
In 2023, the famous Egyptian billionaire Mohammed Al Fayed, father of Princess Diana’s lover Dodi Al Fayed, also passed away; he was 94 years old. He was the owner of the Ritz Hotel in Paris and in the past owned the Harrods department store in London and the Fulham football club.
The oldest deceased billionaires are Billie Joe “Red” McCombs (age 95), owner of a chain of auto dealers and founder of radio station Clear Channel (now iHeartMedia), and vice president and Charles Munger (age 99). He is a shareholder of billionaire investor Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway company.
Among the billionaires who died in 2023 was American musician and businessman Jimmy Buffett; former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi; Gordon Moore, co-founder of Intel; Independent director of India’s largest paint manufacturing company, Asian Paints Ltd, Ashwan Dani (the richest on the list, his fortune was $8 billion), etc.
