From December 1 to December 24, 2023, the cost of the salad set “Herring Under a Fur Coat” according to the classic recipe increased by 3.1%, or 8 rubles, compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 267 rubles. The price of chicken eggs increased the most in this group – up 31% year-on-year. The price for 2 pieces in December was 31 rubles. This is followed by carrots and onions, which are up 13% annually in both cases. The average price of 200 g of carrots in December was 13 rubles, 100 g of onions – 11 rubles. The average cost of beets increased by 5% during the year, reaching 14 rubles per 350 grams in December. 400 g of potatoes will cost 45 rubles, which is 1% more than in December last year. Prices for mayonnaise and herring fell 3% and 1% annually, respectively. The average price of 300 g of mayonnaise in December was 53 rubles, and 350 g of herring – 101 rubles.
“The slight increase in the price tag is due to the fact that herring and mayonnaise are cheaper, stocks of which are in large quantities both at suppliers and in stores. This creates favorable price competition between products. As a result, the average cost decreases,” commented Check Index experts.
