The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) recorded a decrease in the prices of 252 drugs on the list of vital and essential medicines in 2023. In this respect reported on the FAS Telegram channel.
According to the agency, it was possible to reduce prices thanks to the economic analysis conducted by FAS on maximum sales prices, taking into account the cost of drugs in other countries.
The Ministry stated that “Drug prices have fallen due to their alignment with the prices in reference countries and the entry of new generic drugs into the market.”
FAS believes that lowering prices will ensure equal conditions in the circulation of medicines, increase their availability for the population and at the same time bring savings to citizens and the budget.
Before that, the service was trying to reduce prices for socially important drugs that are on the list of vital and essential medicines. In particular, at the end of March 2022, the anti-monopoly service announced reductions in the cost of more than 100 types of medicines, including diabetes, hypertension and HIV.
FAS on December 20 clarified cartel for the supply of socially important products.
