Cooperation in the EAEU is progressing successfully and unlocking the economic potential of the union countries. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
“The Eurasian Union has been operating for almost 10 years, and during this time the volume of mutual trade has almost doubled, and the total GDP of the EAEU countries has increased from 1.6 to 2.5 trillion dollars,” Putin said.
Putin noted that cooperation within the EAEU is progressing extremely successfully and dynamically. Interaction between countries takes place on the basis of common benefit, taking into account the interests of all countries.
A free trade agreement will be signed between the EAEU and Iran at the end of December will create additional opportunities to expand engagement. Putin later said that this decision would “create additional opportunities to expand our interaction.” The EAEU includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
