EU leaders announced that the supply of missiles, bullets and air defense systems to Kiev should be accelerated. The relevant statement of the Council of Europe is available at: Web site Institute.
It is stated that the European Council is determined to implement the initiative to supply one million artillery ammunition to Ukraine. Also, the leaders of the European Union countries noted the need to “intensify work” on the expansion and reform of the European Peace Fund fund, through which funds are spent on military assistance to Ukraine.
“The European Union and its member states will continue to meet Ukraine’s urgent military and defense needs. “The European Council insists in particular on the importance of timely, predictable and sustainable military support to Ukraine, through the European Peace Fund and the EU Military Assistance Mission, as well as through direct assistance to Ukraine from member states.”
5 May 2023 EU Council approved Through the Peace Fund, 1 billion Euros were allocated to Ukraine for the purchase of bullets.
