The company RN-Vankor, which is part of the Rosneft oil and gas production complex, has started the construction of the underwater section of the main oil pipeline along the Yenisei River as part of the implementation of the Vostok Oil project. Tochino production base is 60 km away from the city of Dudinka. This was reported by the press service of the oil company.
The length of the pipeline crossing will be 5.8 km, it will be trenched and laid along the bottom of the Yenisei and will be part of the 770-kilometer Vankor-Paiyakha-North Gulf oil pipeline.
16-ton special pipes will be used in the transition.
The company states that the technology and materials used in the construction of the crossing are Russian-made. When designing the transport system, the experience of building oil pipelines in the Vankor cluster was taken into account.
The study area in the area of the Tochino production base was chosen due to the smallest width of the water channel – 2.5 km in this place. Part of the pipeline will be laid in the coastal region, as the Yenisei River expands its bed during the flood season.
Currently, dredging work for the trench construction of the main pipeline has been completed. 25 ships participated in these. Pipes will soon begin to be laid in the ditch at the bottom of the river.
Next summer, construction workers will continue dredging for the reserve pipeline.
The company announced that the construction camp has now been expanded to 520 locations in the Tochino base area.
