Iranian officials plan to restore an oil refinery in Homs, Syria

Ali Shahverdi, head of coordination of repair work at extra-regional oil refineries, said Iran will restore the refinery in Syria’s Homs province. The agency reports that Far.

According to Shahverdi, the facility is located in central Syria. The facility will be the second facility that Tehran will renovate.

The expert said, “The second refinery, the restoration of which we will start, is a 120 thousand barrel oil refinery in Homs, Syria.”

He noted that Iran’s presence in extra-regional refineries makes it possible to sell engineering and technical services in addition to oil. Tehran will profit from oil refining if the necessary conditions are created.
