Russian air carrier Volga-Dnepr has filed a lawsuit against the Canadian government over restrictive measures imposed on the company. This is as reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
“Volga-Dnepr requests that the federal court declare Canada’s sanctions against it invalid,” the document stated.
According to the publication, the airline claims that it was mistakenly added to the sanctions list because it was not related to the launch of a special military operation (SVO).
As noted in the article, a federal court could determine the future of the carrier’s An-124 Ruslan heavy cargo plane, which has been stranded in Toronto since Canada closed its airspace to Russian planes last February.
Before that, Alexander Neradko, president of Rosaviation statedIt was stated that the plane, which was seized in Toronto more than a year ago, was carrying humanitarian aid cargo at the request of the Canadian government.
