The Group of Seven (G7) countries will ban diamonds from Russia from January 1, 2024. The agency reported that Reuters referring to the summit declaration.

It is planned to introduce a phased ban on the import of Russian diamonds from third countries in the spring. And they plan to create a “trusted verification and certification mechanism” for rough diamonds by September 1.

“We will impose import restrictions on non-industrial diamonds mined, processed or produced in Russia,” the document says.
