Transfers to five new countries via the fast payment system (FPS) are now available to Russians. In an interview I had with the newspaper about this issue, “News” said Alla Bakina, director of the national payment system department of the Central Bank.
“SBP transfers have been started from Russia to five countries,” he said.
Bakina also noted that these include Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Belarus.
According to the newspaper, such transfers are made, for example, from VTB and Alfa Bank. As the newspaper notes, the Alfa Bank app lists four countries where money transfers can be made through SBP: Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. VTB press service told the newspaper that the bank’s customers can send money to four countries, but did not specify which countries. The number of foreign financial institutions to which it is possible to send money through SBP is constantly increasing.
Izvestia states that other credit institutions have also announced plans to transfer abroad through SBP. For example, Rosselkhozbank (RSHB) plans to launch such a service this year. The press service of Pochta Bank told the publication that the service is planned to be introduced in the first quarter of 2024.
