Experts attribute the decline in issuance to the tightening of the Central Bank’s monetary policy. From 27 October the key rate was increased to 15% per annum.
In addition, the volume of mortgage loans issued in October fell by a quarter to 750 billion rubles. This was due, among other things, to the fact that the average size of a new mortgage fell to 4.1 million rubles.
At the same time, the total number of existing mortgage loans in Russia in October increased by almost 3%, reaching 4.8 million, approaching 5 million.
