“This is quite realistic if the situation develops as it is now. In this case, importers will refuse to buy due to risk: consumers will not be able to purchase the product at any price,” the analyst said in an interview with URA.RU.
According to him, the prices of all imported goods are increasing due to the increase in logistics and operation costs abroad. For example, although bananas are the most popular product in retail chains, their price has increased by 40-50%.
Another factor in the rise in prices is the weakening of the ruble. It lost 50-60 percent against the dollar during the year. Fedyakov noted that this directly affects the cost of imported products.
