The Ukrainian economy is suffering daily losses of up to nine billion hryvnia (about $250 million) due to the announcement of an air strike warning on some parts of the country. Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy of the Verkhovna Rada Daniil Getmantsev wrote this on his Telegram channel.

According to the legislator, monetary losses in relation to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) are constantly increasing. This occurs despite nominal growth at the level of the state economy.

“If we assume that half of the economy stops during an alarm, the damage of a pure alarm day will reach roughly nine billion hryvnia,” the parliamentarian emphasized.

The lawmaker added that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky instructed law enforcement and security agencies to develop a plan to prevent prolonged air strikes. However, as Getmantsev noted, in order for the relevant initiatives to be implemented, the authorities must first significantly strengthen the air defense system.

Simultaneously in five regions of Ukraine on the night of November 24 worked air raid sirens. Residents of Khmelnitsky, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Ternopil regions were warned about possible danger.

Previously in Ukraine announced Establishment of the air defense coalition.
