As a result of Polish truckers closing the checkpoint at the border between the two countries, the Ukrainian economy suffered a loss of more than 400 million Euros. This was announced by Vladimir Balin, deputy chairman of the International Road Transport Association of Ukraine. TASS.
According to Balin, the downtime of a Ukrainian truck costs the carrier 350 euros per day, taking into account lost profits.
Let us remind you that Polish truckers have closed three main checkpoints on the Ukrainian border since November 6. They demand the cancellation of EU aid to their Ukrainian counterparts. Freight transport tariffs have tripled due to the blockade.
On November 21, Slovak drivers closed the Vyshne Nemecke – Uzhgorod checkpoint. Ukrainian Border Service reported about the temporary removal of the checkpoint. Currently, around 400 trucks are waiting to go to Slovakia.
