The cost of living in hotels in Russia has increased by 8-14% since the beginning of 2023. This was announced by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting with members of the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin. reports TASS.
According to him, prices in two- and three-star hotels increased by 8-11 percent. In four and five star hotels it is almost 14%. Reşetnikov stated that the increase in prices was due to the scarcity of hotel beds in the face of increasing demand. By mid-November, 1.5 times more rooms were booked for the New Year holiday than a year ago.
The Minister emphasized the importance of increasing the hotel stock in Russia. According to him, 10 thousand new figures were introduced in the country in the 9 months of 2023, compared to 11 thousand in the whole of 2022.
