Russia’s federal budget deficit is expected to be 1% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) by the end of 2023. The head of the Russian Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov told reporters about this. His words guide the way TASS.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV channel Asharq News, Siluanov reported that this year the Russian budget deficit will be just over 1% of GDP. According to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the budget deficit in the January-October period reached 1.23 trillion rubles.

Federation Council on Wednesday approved Law on the Federal Budget of Russia 2024-2025. The budget deficit is expected to remain below 1% over the three-year period. It is planned to be 0.9% of GDP in 2024, 0.4% of GDP in 2025, and 0.8% of GDP in 2026.
