Scammers look for their victims among people looking for work and offer them courses on trading in financial markets. The head of the department responsible for the protection of corporate interests told RBC this VTB Dmitry Revyakin.
According to him, scammers teach their victims how to trade in the financial and foreign exchange markets, and then offer to invest their own and loan funds in the project, but the person cannot withdraw their “earnings” – they take all the money for themselves.
The search for victims is carried out through the resumes of applicants for vacancies, where those who want to find a job are invited to take the position of a specialist in the analytics department. The person is then invited to a free one-day training session at the company’s “office”. There they register him on the trading platform, find out his financial situation and offer to deposit his own money and loan funds into the account.
November 10 in the VTB press service saidIt turns out that scammers are increasingly calling Russians through private messaging applications. It is stated that fraudsters began using this function to extract money from gullible users when they saw a call from the application and answered the phone, believing that they were contacted in connection with an advertisement.
