Russian diplomats attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit informed their foreign counterparts about the growth and diversification of the Russian economy. The country’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk told reporters about this, according to reports RIA News.

The event will take place in San Francisco, USA, between 15-17 November. The Russian delegation attending the summit this year was headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Overchuk.

“We explained the course of our economy and stated that our economy is growing and diversifying. Moreover, this is a qualitative growth coming from the processing industries, the industry, not the mining industries,” he emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that members of the Russian delegation informed representatives of foreign countries about the record low unemployment level in the country. According to official statistics, this figure currently reaches 3%.

In addition, Overchuk pointed out that citizens’ real incomes increased by 7.5%. As can be seen from his words, Russians’ salaries are increasing faster than inflation, which is 6 percent.
