A criminal corruption scheme involving the export of Babushkina Krynka dairy products to Russia has been uncovered in Belarus. The President explained this at the meeting on November 14. Alexander Lukashenko.
According to the Belarusian president, the owners of the Mogilev enterprise “Babushkina Krynka” created controlled companies in Russia, sold products to them with a minimal price difference, and then resold them in the Russian Federation at a higher price. This underestimated the tax base, which caused losses to the Belarusian budget.
“As a result of operational research activities, eight commercial groups were developed that provide control over favorable conditions for the export to Russia of products from a number of domestic milk processing enterprises. (…) The information received showed that the implementation of the plan could not be carried out without the participation of enterprise officials and state institutions,” said Lukashenko.
He added that he instructed KGB Chairman Ivan Tertel to seize the suspects’ property in order to generate state revenue.
Tertel said that 26 people were detained in the incident and 15 of them were arrested.
