The Russian Federation and South Sudan have reached an agreement on geological exploration and mapping of natural resource deposits in this African republic. In an interview about this TASS said Chol Tong Mayai Jang, South Sudan’s Ambassador to Moscow.

According to him, a cooperation agreement was signed between Rosgeologiya and the Ministry of Mining of South Sudan on an agreement on mapping the natural resources of the republic.

“Our company received such an offer from our government,” the diplomat said.

He noted that South Sudan has large reserves of natural resources but has only a rough idea of ​​their quantity.

“There has never been a geological survey in our country before,” the ambassador continued.

The diplomat said that it was stated in the contract of the project that it should be completed within two years.

He noted that rosgeology also works in Sudan, which has not yet been divided into two countries. He noted that Russia “has some ideas” about South Sudan’s natural resources.

“Therefore, we think now is the right time for Rosgeology to conduct relevant research in our country,” the ambassador added.
