The Chinese company “Xuan Yuan” is ready to invest up to 5 billion yuan in the construction of a conveyor system for the transfer of coal products from the Amur region along the Amur River to China’s Heilongjiang province. Jiao Jian, the company’s deputy general manager for foreign cooperation and vice chairman of the China Coal Import Association, reported this to the InfoTEK analytical center.
According to him, various options for the construction of the facility, as well as the participation of a Chinese company in the project, are currently being evaluated.
“If it is only via the Amur, it requires less investment, a smaller volume. And if you install the conveyor before slaughter, these are already more significant costs. “We are ready to invest about 5 billion yuan, the final amount will depend on the distance and conditions,” Jian said, noting that interstate support is necessary for the successful implementation of the project.
The official emphasized that the construction of the plant could start as early as next year and that Russian-Chinese cooperation in the coal industry should be comprehensively developed, including joint coal production, transportation and implementation of investment projects.
Product transfer volume is expected to be 15 million tons per year.
However, Jian noted that this figure is likely to increase further to 70 million tons.
