And at some point it’s easier to start opening up APIs to each other, to compete for the customer’s path, for their experience, for the format in which they receive this service or set of services. “It is important to provide the best service to the customer, then he will stay with you for a long time,” he said.

Tsarev noted that consistency, clear and transparent rules and equality of all players are important when opening an API. According to him, there are now not only banks competing with banks in the financial sector, but also ecosystems, e-commerce and digital companies. So if you need to track the launch of an API, it’s important to pay attention to all participants.

“We had a lot of ideas: for example, you just need to log in to government services using your bank ID. Then an attempt was made to connect banks’ accounts and government services, namely the Unified identification and authentication system. 27 million customers, unified ID and identification through the SberBank Online mobile application verification has been achieved. One of the ideas was to link the bank ID and the Unified Identification Number so that you can seamlessly move from one mobile application to another,” added Sber’s vice chairman of the board of directors.
