The G7 countries could not agree on any decision on coordinated measures against diamond exports from the Russian Federation and agreed only on “intensification of consultations”. This was reported by TASS Referring to the statement made after the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs of the G7 countries and the head of the EU diplomatic service.
G7 meeting participants asked “third countries” to stop providing financial support to the Russian Federation. “Serious retaliatory measures” were mentioned as possible consequences.
The statement emphasized, “In order to reduce Russia’s income from exports, we plan to intensify consultations on energy, metals and non-industrial diamonds mined, processed or produced in Russia.”
It is known that the plans of the G7 countries to ensure coordination regarding sanctions against Russia in the field of critical goods and technologies will be discussed in the coming period.
