American sportswear manufacturer Nike filed a lawsuit against New Balance and Skechers on the grounds that they used a patented technology to produce sneaker uppers. This was reported by Reuters referring to the statement of claim.
Nike said Nike Flyknit technology allows the company to produce shoes with superior performance, design and aesthetics using very little material or waste.
The lawsuit states that the patented technology is used by competitors to produce Skechers Arch Fit, Glide Step and Ultra Flex 3 running shoes, as well as New Balance Fresh Foam and FuelCell.
Nike added that the company had previously sued Skechers for patent infringement.
