Belarusian authorities plan to receive 1.3 billion rubles from Russia in 2023 as compensation for tax maneuvering in the oil industry. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of the Republic Yuri Seliverstov on the TV channel. “Belarus-1”.

According to him, the compensation agreement came into force at the beginning of this year and is already working. The amount of compensation depends on the cost of oil. “This is an impressive amount that comes to us and helps our oil refineries to be on par with Russian producers,” the minister said.

Earlier, Seliverstov said that Belarus plans to allocate 61 billion rubles from compensatory transfer funds from the Russian Federation to support oil refineries in 2024.

Therefore, compensation payments from the Russian Federation allow Belarus to support national producers of oil products and soften the consequences of the tax maneuver in the oil industry of the Russian Federation on the economy of the republic, Seliverstov noted.
