British authorities have allowed Russian businessman Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin to attend his divorce proceedings in London with his lawyers. This was announced during a hearing in the UK Supreme Court by the lawyer and Baron Edward Faulks representing the entrepreneur’s interests. TASS.

According to him, Potanin was “able to be legally represented” in court after receiving special permission from the British Financial Sanctions Authority.

On October 31, the country’s Supreme Court began hearings on the property division case between Potanin and his ex-wife Natalya. The hearings will end on November 1. The court decision will be announced later.

Potanin is under sanctions from the UK and the USA.

At the end of 2019, the London High Court refused to recognize the claim of Potanin’s ex-wife Natalya as jurisdiction, because the ex-spouses’ property division claim was evaluated in Russia. The appeal against the decision of the London High Court was decided by the lower courts of England and Wales.
