“The signed order defines in a simplified form the list of 25 countries whose citizens and legal entities can open accounts and deposits in Russian banks,” the head of the cabinet said.
He noted that the decision should make it easier for citizens and businesses of friendly countries to do business in Russia. According to Mishustin, creating more comfortable conditions for foreign businesses and entrepreneurs is an important part of the government’s systematic efforts to achieve financial sovereignty as part of the implementation of national goals set by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As the Prime Minister stated, such an opportunity will arise especially for companies and citizens in Belarus, Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other countries. To do this, foreigners will need to present a package of necessary documents to a credit institution located in their country before entering the Russian Federation.
“They will be able to pay at our banks upon arrival,” Mishustin continued.
He also expressed hope that the decisions taken will help improve interaction between the business communities of partner countries.
