The recent decision by German authorities to start exporting gas from Nigeria will not solve the long-term problems of the economy. Dmitry Medvedev talked about this on his page. “In contact”.

According to him, Nigerian gas will only partially compensate for the reduction in supply from Russia, given Nigeria’s small reserves. He also stated that it is logical for Germany to consider developing gas fields in Antarctica in the future. According to Medvedev, the EU is losing its international authority and real influence in the European sphere.

“Europe’s energy cooperation with Russia has been broken or frozen for too long; difficult times have come for the EU,” Medvedev wrote.

He believes that the policy of Western leaders, aimed mainly at unconditionally fulfilling the demands of the United States and Britain, has led to the European Union losing its ability to follow an independent line. The lack of strong leaders who can defend national interests worsens the situation.

“The great powers will sooner or later agree on how to live under new conditions for the foreseeable future. Washington cannot escape Russia, China and the countries of the Global South. And there is no point in us starting a full-fledged conflict with America. But sweet little old Europe will soon disappear,” Medvedev concluded.

In addition, the former president of the Russian Federation expressed his views on the problems of regulation of markets and trade in petroleum products within the WTO. He said transparent rules for all parties are needed to restore trust.

Before this, G7 countries had called. cancel Unfair trade restrictions.

Previously Medvedev compared Rallies for Palestine and Ukraine.
