German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany expects natural gas from Nigeria, Africa’s leader in blue fuel reserves. This was reported by Punch the newspapers.
The Chancellor announced his expectations from gas supply before his visit to Nigeria.
“Nigeria has the largest natural gas reserves in Africa. German companies are interested in supplying gas from Nigeria and hope to cooperate with Nigerian gas companies,” Scholz explained.
Scholz also stated that issues regarding the specific scope and amounts of the agreements will need to be agreed upon during negotiations between German and Nigerian companies.
Scholz also announced that Berlin welcomes initiatives to expand the hydrogen fuel market.
Scholz starts his visit to Africa on Sunday, October 29. He plans to visit Ghana and Nigeria.
